The Garden Plan was generously designed by landscape architect and Dickson parent Stephen Wyda. Steve has envisioned a garden with many different meeting places so that multiple classes can be using the different areas at same time. In the plan, the “main” entrance of the garden is just below the Greenhouse at the new Garden Shed. There would be rules and a map posted on the Garden Shed to help orient volunteers and visitors. The garden is also designed to include as many edible types of vegetation as possible. There are blueberry bushes located adjacent to the playground and also grape vines on trellises, as well as an Orchard that would include fruit trees.
Phase 1 of implementing this plan involves installation of the raised beds shown in the design and is well underway.
